I’m Giovanna: I am a life-long scientist, engineer (CA EIT), trained data scientist (General Assembly Data Science Immersive course graduate [May 2022]), currently working as a data engineering consultant supporting health agencies visualize health trends in our communities. I’m a certified Snowflake SnowPro, and I’m excited to build and deploy GenAI solutions to streamline workflows and information retrieval. I’ve been coding since mid-2000’s, and working with data for over 10 years. In my very limited spare time, I design and sew my own clothes, and I love biking. I previously worked as a scientist, studying how humans interact with their environment and authored technical reports on findings for the NASA Ames HSI/HCI community. As a researcher in human factors, I’ve designed experiments, collected data and completed statistical analyses. With an academic background in applied mathematics and trained in contemporary machine learning/ AI tools, I’m exceptionally prepared to work in designing systems and models that ensure trust and safety for users. I’ve consistently worked to bridge communication gaps by distilling complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences, translating information to Spanish, and creating graphics and visualizations to summarize numerical data and am always working to bridging the technical-human connection.
